Bryan, TX. June 15– Luv Thy Kidney will host 2019 Juneteenth Luv Thy Kidney Basketball Tournament involving the Brazos Valley community. The event was created to raise funds for the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), the largest, most comprehensive and longstanding organization dedicated to the awareness, prevention and treatment of kidney disease. Luv Thy Kidney Basketball Tournament will take place June 15, 2019; at Neal Rec Center 600 N Randolph Ave. Bryan, TX; Pre- Registry deadline June 7th. First game will kick off at 11:30 am Saturday, June 15th.
Snacks and refreshments will be provided as well as music. This is a family fun even, so security will be enforced.
There will be a few companies partnering with Luv Thy Kidney to make this event a success. DaVita will be at the event providing free kidney screening and information regarding Kidney health. Southwest Transplant Alliance will be at the event to help educate the community on how to save lives through organ & tissue donation and transplantation.
Organizers and others who will support the event are part of a larger local community that stays on the front lines to promote kidney health and help prevent and end kidney disease. NKF urges participants and the public to make an explicit commitment to “Heart Your Kidneys” by learning about the kidney’s vital functions and help elevate the kidneys to the status of other vital organs such as the heart.
“Let’s refuse to accept that kidney health is somehow less important than other pressing health issues,” said Kevin Longino, Executive Director, NKF Serving Bryan/College Station, TX “Let’s give kidneys some love. ‘Heart your kidneys’ for a change!”
