Winter Youth Basketball Registration Open
Thru Dec. 1 – They Need Coaches, Too!

Whether a youngster is taking their first dribble or already sinking three-pointers, the Parks and Recreation Department’s Winter Youth Basketball League is perfect for new or experienced players from six to 13 years old.
The league focuses on teamwork and fundamentals while promoting mental, social, and physical development. Beyond the court, it also offers a safe, supportive environment to help shape character.
The child’s age as of March 7, 2024, determines the division. Here’s a look at the divisions and days of play:
6-7 Coed (6-7 years) – Mon., Wed., & Sat., OR Tue., Thu., & Sat
8-9 Girls (8-9 years) – Tue., Thu., & Sat.
8-9 Boys (8-9 years) – Mon., Wed., & Sat., OR Tue., Thu., & Sat
10-11 Girls (10-11 years) – Tue., Thu., & Sat.
10-11 Boys (10-11 years) – Mon., Wed., & Sat., OR Tue., Thu., & Sat
12-13 Boys (12-13 years) – Mon., Wed., & Sat.
Games are scheduled on weeknights between 6:30-9:30 p.m., with Saturday practices between 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Each activity is in hour time slots with the earlier times allotted to the younger divisions.
Depending on availability, activities are conducted at the Lincoln Recreation Center and College Station Independent School District gyms. The league plays a round-robin schedule and concludes with a tournament.
Pre-draft workouts are Dec. 4 for Monday/Wednesday participants and Dec. 5 for Tuesday/Thursday participants. The league breaks for the holidays from Dec. 18 to Jan. 7.
Registration ends Dec. 1. You can also register by calling 979.764.3486 or by stopping by the Central Park office at 1000 Krenek Tap Road. The cost is $84 for residents and $100 for non-residents. Jerseys are provided, and spots are limited.

Volunteer Coaches Needed
Teach basketball fundamentals and help kids develop skills while learning the timeless values of hard work, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Experience isn’t required, and we provide the resources for a fun and successful season. Parents who coach automatically get their children on their teams. Each head coach is allowed one assistant coach.
