United Way is Building a Stronger Community at Their Campaign Kick-Off Luncheon
COLLEGE STATION, TX (Aug. 6) – The Campaign Kick-Off Luncheon marks the start of United Way of the Brazos Valley’s 66th Annual Community Campaign, which allows community members to support United Way of the Brazos Valley and their programs through payroll deductions. Because of the success of the 2018 Community Campaign, United Way of the Brazos Valley is able to grant over $325,000 in Community Impact Grants to 22 local nonprofits serving the Brazos Valley, including Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson and Washington counties.
United Way of the Brazos Valley fights for the health, education and financial stability of every person in the Brazos Valley. They strengthen the community by identifying the Brazos Valley’s greatest issues, engaging individuals to build strategies and investing in change. United Way of the Brazos Valley invests through Community Impact Grants to local nonprofit organizations and Investment Initiatives including 2-1-1 Texas, Youth Leadership Cabinet, VolunteerBrazosValley.org and the Early Literacy Program, to impact over 60,000 people per year.
United Way of the Brazos Valley is honored to have General Joe Ramirez, Commandant of the Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets as the keynote speaker. General Ramirez served on United Way of the Brazos Valley’s Board of Directors for six years, one of which he served as the Board Chair.
“In addition to kicking off the Community Campaign season, this event celebrates all the ways United Way of the Brazos Valley is building a stronger community,” says Alison Prince, President and CEO of United Way of the Brazos Valley. “Our work would not be possible without the support of donations from individuals and local businesses through Community Campaign.”
