Austin-based authentic Tex-Mex restaurant company Trudy’s announced today the expansion of the beloved Austin restaurant to College Station at 1200 University Dr E, opening this spring. As one of Austin’s iconic restaurants with great food and big drinks, the team behind Trudy’s found College Station to be a perfect market for the restaurant’s first expansion in Texas.
The iconic and beloved Trudy’s brand was revamped in 2021 with rebooted branding, made-from-scratch new menu offerings and rejuvenated interior designs, which will be seen in the new College Station location.
Guests will be able to enjoy fan-favorite cocktails and dishes, including Trudy’s Classic Queso; Cholula Honey Chicken Fajitas served with onions, peppers, zucchini, squash, rice and a choice of beans; Trudy’s Famous Stuffed Avocado, a chicken-and-cheese-stuffed fried avocado, Suiza sauce and melted cheese served with rice and a choice of beans; and Flaquities, Trudy’s original Tex-Mex egg rolls available with chicken, vegetables or brisket. Additionally, Trudy’s has brought back the Chorizo-Stuffed Chicken—discontinued years ago—with sautéed vegetables, pico, avocado slices and queso cotija, served with rice and a choice of beans.
Additionally, the restaurant company is excited to bring a new concept to South Congress this spring, in the space formerly occupied by Trudy’s Del Mar. While the team loved everything that Trudy’s Del Mar accomplished, they wanted to bring a true neighborhood destination to the space, and the new concept will embrace those intentions.
