In celebration of the Queen Theatre’s first birthday, the historic Art Deco icon of Downtown Bryan will present the 1939 classic, The Wizard of Oz at 3 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 4. Patrons will be treated to FREE birthday cookies and photo ops with Dorothy, Glinda the Good Witch, and other characters.
After almost four decades of silence, The Queen Theatre reopened its doors on May 4, 2018 to the Bryan/College Station community as a single screen, Art Deco movie theater. For the past year, the Queen has shown classic movies from westerns to romance and big blockbusters to sci-fi for just $5 per movie ticket.
“Reopening the Queen Theatre last year was an exciting milestone for the Downtown Bryan Association, as well as the entire community,” said Sandy Farris, the organization’s executive director. “Bringing this building back to life means so much to those who have fond memories of downtown, and celebrating our first birthday is just icing on the cake.”
All tickets for The Wizard of Oz are $5 and can be purchased online at www.queenbryantx.com or at the theatre box office 30 min prior to each show time.
