Theme

The theme will be “Mental Health Awareness.”

What comes to mind when you think of mental health awareness? Whether you have firsthand experience or have witnessed family and friends navigating mental health, we’d love to see what you’re inspired to create that helps open up conversations around mental health.

Deadline

Deadline to submit artwork is October 31

Categories

  1. Elementary-school students
  2. Middle-school students
  3. High-school students
  4. College students
  5. Non-student adults

Prizes

All artwork will be juried by a panel of local art experts. First place winners in each category will receive a certificate and a $50 gift card to Michaels and have their artwork displayed in our waiting area at our Oakwood Roots College station location as a way to communicate, “We are proud of you and desire to celebrate you out loud as you inspire others.” Certificates and gift cards will be handed out at the Open House, Tuesday, November 14 from 6:00-8:30 pm for those who are able to attend. Winners will be announced approximately a week after their respective deadline. Keep an eye out on our social media platforms for more information.

Rules

  • Artwork can be of any medium: painting, drawing, photograph, sculpture, digital art, etc.
  • All work must be original and fit the theme of Mental Health Awareness
  • For paintings, drawings, digital art, or photographs, the size limit is 20 x 24 in
  • For 3D art, please submit a photograph of your artwork
  • All artwork should be ready to display if selected (in a frame or otherwise ready to hang with wire on the back)
  • All artwork must be submitted via photo with entry form by 11:59 pm on October 31
  • All artists below the age of 18 need parental consent
  • All submitted artwork will remain the property of the artist, but winners will be displayed at our Oakwood Roots College Station waiting area and virtually on our website and social media sites
  • All artists can remain anonymous publicly or have their name and grade, along with art title and medium shared with their work
