Local City Closures for Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all the local residents of the Brazos Valley area. Here is a limited list of local city closures for the holiday. If you aren’t sure if the offices in your area are closed, please go to the website for your city government and check there. They may also have social media pages that you can follow for updates. This isn’t an exhaustive list, but information that was sent to us via local municipalities.
Brenham
We will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 28 and 29, 2024, to spend Thanksgiving with our families. From all of us to all of you, have a safe and happy holiday.
- This closure affects the following:
- City Hall
- Municipal Court
- Pet Adoption & Animal Services – Closed Wednesday thru Friday, Open Saturday
- Blue Bell Aquatic Center – Closed Thursday thru Sunday
- Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library – Closed Thursday thru Sunday
- Brenham & Washington County Texas Visitor Center – Closed Thursday, Open Friday regular hours 10 am – 5 pm
- Collection/Transfer & Recycling Station – Closed Thursday, Open Friday
- No curbside pickup on Thursday. Collections for Thursday and Friday will be pushed one day – Thursday pick-up will occur on Friday and Friday pick-up will occur on Saturday.
Bryan
City offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, for Thanksgiving. Solid waste will follow this schedule:
Residential solid waste collection
- Thursday’s routes will be collected on Friday
Brush/bulky collections
- Thursday’s routes will be collected on Friday
- Friday’s route will be collected on Saturday
College Station
City of College Station offices will have limited hours next week in observance of Thanksgiving – closed Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29 – Thanksgiving
Thursday’s waste collection routes will be collected on Friday. Friday’s routes will be collected on Saturday.
Here are next week’s hours of operation for College Station Parks and Recreation facilities:
- Beachy Central Park Office: Open Mon-Wed from 8 am-5 pm; Closed Thu-Fri
- Gary Halter Nature Center: Open Mon-Wed from 8 am-5 pm; Closed Thu-Sat
- Lincoln Recreation Center: Closed Mon-Fri
- Meyer Senior and Community Center: Open Mon-Wed from 8 am-5 pm; Closed Thu-Sat
