Blinn Invites Students To Explore Applied Technology And
Workforce Career Opportunities At Upcoming Job Fair

Students can connect with employers in construction, electrical, HVAC, and fire science on Tuesday, April 1
The Blinn College District invites students to explore high-demand construction, electrical, HVAC, and fire science career opportunities at its upcoming Industry Job Fair. Hosted at the Blinn RELLIS Administration Building (map) from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, the fair allows students to meet with potential employers and learn about Blinn’s fire science and applied technology and workforce programs.
“We are excited to partner with these industry leaders and provide Blinn students with a networking opportunity that introduces them to the numerous career paths and fields available in our community,” Fire Science Program Director Jason Loyd said. “This fair is a one-stop shop where students can learn more about Blinn’s fire science and skilled trade offerings while connecting with the employers who are interested in hiring them once they complete our programs. These are high-wage, in-demand fields, with some of our Blinn students receiving starting salaries of more than $80,000 per year.”

Blinn offers nationally recognized certifications and degree programs that equip students with the skills needed to succeed in high-growth careers. Programs include carpentry, construction management, facility maintenance, highway construction, HVAC, and welding technology.
Blinn’s Fire Science Program features an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) and Level-1 certificate in Fire Science Technology designed to prepare students for careers in firefighting and fire protection, and an AAS in Fire Safety and Health that trains students for high-growth careers as occupational safety and health specialists. Through a unique transfer agreement, students can earn their AAS in Fire Safety and Health from Blinn and seamlessly transfer into a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Safety and Health at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
“This fair also is a great resource for companies interested in hiring highly motivated, industry-ready graduates,” Loyd said. “We invite organizations interested in hiring our students to participate in the fair.”
