The Arts Council of Brazos Valley is is partnering with three local schools to arrange art exhibits for their students. The Arts Council is currently displaying the artwork from these schools in two community galleries in College Station.
Artwork from the St. Thomas Early Learning Center and The School for Little People are on display in the Community Gallery at College Station City Hall. Artwork from College Station Independent School District students is on display in the Community Gallery located in the lobby of the Brazos Valley Council of Governments. Both exhibits are on display through early summer.
“Art is an important part of a child’s development, we are at our most creative when we are young,” commented Sheree Boegner, Executive Director of The Arts Council. “It is important to instill confidence and character in these students at an early age. They are our future leaders,” Boegner added.
“We feel it is important to encourage and show the students that their work has value and is appreciated outside their circle of friends, teachers and family,” commented Alix Neeley, Program Manager, for The Arts Council.
The Arts Council manages five Community Galleries. Locations include; Bryan City Hall, College Station City Hall, Brazos Valley Council of Governments, Brazos Valley Plastic Surgery and Navasota City Hall. Gallery hours vary by location.
