WATER & LIGHT
Information courtesy of | Arts Council of the Brazos Valley
Water & Light features elemental light forms by Michael Crawford & watercolor by Mary Skow.
Water & Light , featuring elemental light forms by Michael Crawford & watercolor by Mary Skow, will be on display at the Arts Council February 19 – April 11, 2024.
Michael Crawford is a pioneer in light-in-space, using elemental light, holographic techniques, and handmade light-sensitive emulsion on glass to create forms imbued with color brought forth from within the light that illuminates each piece.
Mary Skow began watercolor painting in 1997, finding inspiration for her paintings in nature and moments in everyday life. Skow writes, “I feel my purpose is to bring confidence to others and show them that they too can paint a beautiful sunset”.
The public is invited to an opening reception for Water & Light, which will be held at the Arts Council on February 28th from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. During this event, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony in partnership with Bryan-College Station Chamber of Commerce. Light refreshments will be provided for guests attending, as well as opportunities to meet the artists and purchase artwork.
