Unplanned: Film Documenting Bryan Woman’s Journey Towards Pro-Life Activism
It’s not every day that a major motion picture is made about a resident of Bryan, Texas.
“Unplanned” debuts in theaters across the United States on March 29th. This film tells the story of Abby Johnson, an Aggie who directed the Planned Parenthood facility on E. 29th St. in Bryan. This Planned Parenthood director-turned-pro-life-advocate, first made local news in 2009. Her change of heart on the topic of abortion, which is documented and explained in the film, launched a movement in our community and ended up on national news. Johnson wrote a book documenting her experience and was eventually contacted about the production of a film telling her story.
Locals like Jeff Paradowski, the attorney that represented Johnson in court, and Shawn Carney, the director of Coalition for Life (the organization Johnson teamed up with after her departure from Planned Parenthood), are also portrayed in the film. You can see Paradowski and Carney in this video where they talk about the production of the film.
Unplanned will be playing at the Cinemark Movie Theater in College Station and Premiere Cinemas in Bryan.
