In the first 11 weeks of operation for Travis Fields at Bryan Midtown Park the ballfields have generated over $1.3m in economic benefit for the city.
At the conclusion of April 2022, the park will have hosted eight baseball and softball tournaments with an estimated attendance to the park of over 7,000 attendees on weekends alone. In addition to this, RCI Sports Management plays host to Bryan United Little League granting them free usage of the facilities as well as hosting multiple recreational leagues and events.
Executive Director of Destination Bryan John Friebele is excited about Travis Fields. “The new and improved Travis Fields, under the management of RCI Sports Management, have been a welcomed addition to Bryan’s facility inventory. While this community already boasted some great diamond fields, this facility provides room for new tournaments attracted by the state-of-the-art amenities and exceptional service, as well as the expansion of recurring annual events. The economic impact already realized at Travis Fields is just a symbol of more great things to come in Bryan, Texas that will welcome visitors and cater to residents for years to come.”
Travis Fields have been able to create a premier destination to attract top level baseball and softball tournaments to the area. With synthetic turf surfaces, teams are prepared to travel greater distances to play, and the numbers are reflecting that. With over 84% of the teams coming from out of the region, including out of state travellers from California, Arizona and Colorado.
“We strongly feel that through our collaborations with key events, not only are these fields able to increase capacity for existing events but we have been able to attract over 20 new tournaments to the area.”
“With a strong management structure and going above and beyond for on-site attendees the word is spreading quickly about Travis Fields.” RCI Sports Management Solutions Director of Operations, Scott Hillier had to say.
RCI have committed to not only boosting the usage of the venue through tournaments but servicing the local community as well. This summer will see two new recreational leagues launch for the local community to partake in, carrying on from the success of the Winter kickball league.
With the 2022 calendar almost full, RCI is expecting and already has interest in multiyear deals to continue to grow the tournaments at the park. As Midtown Park continues to expand, baseball and softball around the region will play a large role in its success.
