Kickball, a cup in hand, music blaring, and the crowd cheering loud. Week one of The Big Leagues, Kickball edition was a success.
Travis Fields at Bryan Midtown Park kicked off the year with a recreational adult kickball league last Tuesday. With six teams from the local area playing in a five-week competition every Tuesday evening for a $1,000 in prizes, the thrills are sure to live up to the hype. Week one saw plenty of action with three teams each taking out two wins a piece.
RCI Sports Management Solutions, the managers of the complex are excited to put this league on for the community. Director of Operations Scott Hillier said, “Rec leagues are meant to be fun an escape from the midweek grind. We feel that week one really showed that, there was music playing, teams were cheering, and the drinks were cold.”
“We [RCI] want to provide more opportunities for the community to utilize this park beyond the traditional baseball and softball tournaments. Not only is it a great way to engage and network with locals, but it also gives everyone a chance to really feel like this park is theirs.”
Week two of The Big Leagues is set to begin at 6pm Tuesday 1st February with action on all fields until 8pm. The community is encouraged to come down and check out what the hype is all about. It truly does live up to the claim that it is the most fun you can have on a kickball field.
Travis Fields at Bryan Midtown Park is officially set to have its grand opening on February 11 at 4:30pm, which is a free community event.
