Exhilarating Lineup Of Aqua Fitness Classes

Take a break from the gym and dive into the City of College Station’s Aqua Fitness classes this summer to build cardio, strength, and resistance in a cool, relaxing atmosphere. It’s easy on the joints while providing an exhilarating workout, regardless of your fitness level.
The Parks & Recreation Department offers aqua fitness classes for people ages 15 and up at Adamson Lagoon and Cindy Hallaran Pool. Previous swimming experience isn’t required, but you must feel comfortable in and around water.
Classes begin May 30 and run through Sept. 8. We provide the equipment but ask that you arrive ready to enter the pool. You should also bring drinking water and a towel.
It all starts with getting an Aqua Fitness season pass for Lap Swim, Water Fitness, Aqua Zen, Aqua HIIT, and Aqua Boot Camp. You can also sample a drop-in pass for $4 a class and, once you’re hooked, get unlimited access for $105.
Passes can be purchased online, by phone at 979.764.3486, or at our Central Park office at 1000 Krenek Tap Road, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Here’s the schedule:
Six lanes are available on a first-come, first-served basis – reservations aren’t accepted. Kickboards and pull buoys are available. During peak times, swimmers must circle swim and share a lane with multiple simmers. Private instruction and coaching aren’t permitted.

Aqua Boot Camp
Be challenged by water resistance in Aqua Bootcamp. Adults benefit from a high-intensity, interval workout that uses resistance equipment for an additional challenge. It combines strength training, aerobic conditioning, and water resistance for an incredible full-body workout.

Blend the best of yoga, Pilates, and tai-chi with warm water. The low-impact class combines stretching, balancing, postures, and core work, making you feel stronger, taller, and more flexible.

The classes provide enjoyable and effective exercises to increase cardiopulmonary capacity, strength, and flexibility. Those who are physically fit, prenatal, postnatal, post-operative, have arthritis or muscle injuries or are sedentary are invited.
