My best friend (Matron of Honor) was interested in a guy on Match.com and was going to meet him for the first time. She needed her wing women with her in case things went south, but they didn’t. They hit it off and even got married. They decided I needed to find someone to occupy me. Ryan happen to be walking back home to go to sleep after the festival and that’s when we drove by and I called out through the window for him to come hang with us. After meeting we found out we had a lot in common. He loved to hunt and liked to just have a good time where ever. If anything he helps me relax and not always take things so seriously. December 30, 2014 we got engaged. We were having Christmas with my family because my brother Justin who is in the Air Force was going to be there. We were leaving his house early in the morning to head to the Woodlands and he was scrabbling to get things packed and was acting like he wasn’t able to get someone’s present wrapped in enough time. So since we were running a smidge late I offered to wrap it for him once we got there. When we arrived and unloaded the car he dashed upstairs and yelled, “You can’t come in and you can’t look!!!” When we sat to open presents a huge box got put by me from him and so I decided I would open it last. When I opened the first box there was another box, then another box, and then another box. I finally got down to the last box and it was a Montelongo’s jewelry box. He always got jewelry from there for me every Christmas and I never though anything of it. I opened up the box and saw the ring, slammed it shut, and started crying on his shoulder. I was so happy to be asked to spend the rest of my life with the man I truly love. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of my family.
Our wedding day was like a fairy tale. All the bridal party got together and had our hair and makeup done while the groom’s party went golfing. We got married in a historical marker church in Gay Hill Texas with about 200 guests. We wanted our ceremony to be close friends and family. As my Papaw (Grandfather) walked me down the aisle, I was so thankful to have all our friends and family there supporting us and celebrating this wonderful time in our lives. Once we said our “I do’s” we hopped into a car and headed to the reception. We had so much fun dancing with each other and everyone else. The night just flew by. In the end we exited out the front with our friends and family making an arch holding sparklers.
