Smoke Testing In Southwest Bryan
Information courtesy of | City of Bryan
Contractors with Water Services are conducting smoke testing on sanitary sewer lines near Leonard Road and Traditions. The testing will continue intermittently through August.
Smoke testing helps identify broken pipes and other defects by injecting smoke into the sewer lines through manholes.
You may see smoke coming from vent pipes on the roofs of homes and businesses, manholes, or the ground where broken sewer pipes might be located. The smoke is non-toxic, does not leave a residue, and does not pose a fire hazard. It will only enter a building if there is defective plumbing or dry drain traps.
To prevent smoke from entering your home or business, pour about one gallon of water into seldom-used drains.
