The Brazos Valley African American Museum is partnering with the Smithsonian Institute to bring an exciting new museum exhibit to the Brazos Valley.
Called Water/Ways, this massive, colorful, informative and interactive exhibit will wind and curve its way through the entire African American Museum, much like a river winding through the Texas countryside. For visitors of all ages, this exhibit will provoke thought, contemplation, conversation and community awareness, while providing a wonderful starting point for future family discussions.
The Smithsonian’s Water/Ways traveling exhibition dives into water’s environmental and cultural impact. Water impacts climate, agriculture, transportation, industry and more. It inspires art and music.
The exhibit will be on display from May 29 – July 17. The grand opening on May 29, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., will feature free admission. The Brazos Valley African American Museum, located at 500 East Pruitt Street in Bryan, is open Tuesday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
