Rick and I met during our freshman year of college at Texas A&M, before an Aggie football game. My dad, Class of ’77, had a Corps reunion that weekend, so we made our way over to the Quad to visit Company A-1, my dad’s former outfit. My dad proceeded to ask fish Tidwell to step out of formation, he then introduced us and the rest is history. Rick and I began dating several months later! I knew he was the one shortly after we started dating, and after many hours spent talking over coffee at Sweet Eugene’s. It was so awesome to see how God orchestrated it all so perfectly! Jumping forward to a few years later, Rick asked me to be his bride on November 29, 2012. That evening was A Army dining out, which just means dates are invited. So, I was all dressed to go and Rick picked me up and we headed to Briarcrest Country Club where the dinner was taking place. After we arrived Rick asked if I would like to take a walk. Rick had arranged a Saber Arch, candles, my best friend there taking pictures, and to have my family there. After praying together, Rick read a few scriptures from a new bible he gave me with my married name already engraved on it, and then asked me to marry him! It was absolutely perfect! After a year of planning around Army orders, and our last semester of school, we were married on a beautiful fall evening in November. The day was more than we could have dreamed of! The ceremony took place in our church, Grace Bible. We grew so much in our walk with Christ during college and Grace was a big part of that so it was so special to be married there. One of our favorite parts of the day was the first look, it gave us a chance to get the butterflies out and enjoy some time together before the ceremony. The ceremony was perfect in every way, from exchanging our vows we wrote for each other, taking communion together, and having worship lead by Rick’s brother. We left the ceremony dancing to Signed, Sealed, Delivered. Our reception took place at Downtown 202 in Downtown Bryan, it was the perfect place for our rustic but elegant style. The night was perfect and we wished it would never have ended. We danced the night away with our closest friends and family. We were so blessed by our amazing vendors who made it all come together so beautifully!
