The Arts Council Presents –
Pastel Art Classes with Amanda Dominguez
Information provided by The Arts Council of Brazos Valley
The Arts Council’s studio artist, Amanda Dominguez, is excited to nurture your child’s artistry by teaching pastels at The Arts Council! You may recognize her work at the Heroes of COVID exhibit, displayed from June to September 2020 in the Arts Council Gallery. She is an experienced pastel artist with a passion for teaching!
When asked why she wants to teach children art, Amanda said, “I teach pastels to children first because 1) It’s fun, colorful and bright but 2) they are very forgiving and can make lots of mistakes and are great for learning. I have taught art classes for many years and enjoy watching the kids learn. I can’t tell you the many benefits of nurturing their artistry!”
All students will be required to have their own box of pastels (non-oil-based); boxes are available for purchase for $25.00. Classes are every Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. at The Arts Council of Brazos Valley, Classroom. Masks are required the entire time and there will be frequent handwashing!
There will be two sessions this spring:
Session 1: Tuesday, January 12, 2021 – Tuesday, March 2, 2021
Session 2: Tuesday, March 16, 2021 – Tuesday, May 4, 2021
Seats are limited! Each class will only allow ten students, so sign up ASAP via https://bvartscouncil.wufoo.com/forms/z1g4tpnn0i90vt6/
