– Our Story –

David and I met on Match.com. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2012 and was working here locally. David graduated from the University of Alabama in 2012 and headed to College Station in May of 2014 to attend graduate school. We hit it off online right away, and we met the very first week he moved to town, on June 3, 2014.

We were both nervous because having a connection online doesn’t always mean that you will have one in person. Turns out, there was no need to be anxious. We met up at Café Capri in Bryan and had that spark instantly. In no time at all, we became inseparable. We both thought very quickly that we had found the person we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with. It was all such a whirlwind.

All the trips jumping back and forth between Alabama, where David’s family lives, and Texas began to blend together. We enjoyed football games, both Alabama and A&M, fishing, spending a lot of time with each other’s families, going to the gun range, seeing movies, watching Netflix, and making runs to Houston on the weekend to visit all my college friends. It only took us a month to say “I love you” and six months for him to ask me to be his wife.
Our wedding was a country rustic wedding at 7F Lodge in College Station on July 26, 2015. Words cannot even begin to describe that day. It was beautiful and classy, but at the same time a complete comedy show. We both messed up our vows. I even said “I, David Ellenburg” at the beginning of mine, and the officiant had to tell me my name was Megan. The vows got so bad that I gave up and told David I will take him “to have and to hold…and all of the other stuff that comes after” then put the ring on his finger.

We even had a cat crash the wedding by walking up to us during the vows and meowing loudly. Honestly though, it was absolutely flawless. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. David and I often say that one of the things we love about the other the most is their sense of humor. We love to laugh, and I honestly believe laughter heals the soul. Our ceremony may have been a hot mess in some people’s eyes, but to us, it was pure perfection.
