“We want people to have an elegant and wickedly fun night out and feel good knowing they are also supporting a great cause,” says Astin Mansion Venue Manager, Christopher Dodgen. Boys & Girls Club CEO Rhonda Watson says the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley are also very grateful to the history of support from Astin Mansion. The Astin Family were among the first supporters of the Boys and Girls Club of the Brazos Valley and the organization would not be where it is today without the financial foundation established in the 1950s by Mrs. Nina Heard Astin. The Astin Mansion team was instrumental in creating the Masquerade Ball event to honor Mrs. Astin’s legacy of support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley. The event also aims to educate and inform the community about the positive impact of the club on local youth. Thousands of youth, who are now local leaders got their start at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley. Simply attending the event will help ensure that local youth continue to have support, hope, and opportunities to succeed as leaders in whatever career path they choose.
CEO Rhonda Watson also states that big things are on the horizon for 2022 for the Boys & Girls Clubs, “After over 55 years in its present location on William J Bryan, the club is preparing to move to the brand-new Newman-Adam Boys & Girls Club building located at 1910 Beck Street in Bryan. We are excited about this new space and welcome the opportunity to serve more area youth with programming to help them excel both academically and athletically. Area youth served by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley need your help more than ever. We are actively raising operating funds to support this new space and ensure it continues to serve as a place where Bryan-College Station youth have opportunities and hope for the future. Your participation and support through events like the Masquerade Ball continue to make the Brazos Valley an exceptional place to live and grow.” The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley would also like to thank event sponsors Stylecraft, the Johnny Lyon Family, Nancy Berry, Element Retirement and Investment Consultants, and Wayne Dicky. In addition, we would like to acknowledge in-kind event sponsors Downtown Event Services, Party Time Rental, Rachel Driskell Photography, DJ Adonis, Kyle Kacal, KBTX, and KAGS.
