Main Street Brenham invites you to a special evening of reflection and celebration as we screen Recollections Volume 3, a powerful film that delves into our community’s rich and diverse history. The screening will occur on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Barnhill Center at The Historic Simon Theatre.
This documentary captures the unique and often untold stories of Brenham, focusing on the impact of segregation on the Black community, the contributions of the Jewish community, the legacy of Brenham’s historic pharmacies, and the leadership of former Mayor Reese Lockett. Through personal stories and firsthand accounts, Recollections Volume 3 gives voice to the individuals whose lives shaped the Brenham we know and cherish today. “We are deeply grateful to the individuals who have contributed their time, memories, and experiences,” said Main Street Manager Leigh Linden. “This screening is an opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate our shared history, and honor those who have paved the way for us.”
The event is free and open to the public.
