Long Way Home Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that maintains a caring, nurturing home life for pets deemed “unadoptable” or who have been diagnosed with a chronic or terminal illness. We create a safe, structured environment for the remainder of their lives because every companion animal deserves a final chance to give and receive love.
I have to brag on this group. The work they do is so incredible! If you’re looking for a new furry companion, check them out. They have dogs to fit every home, and they will place you with the perfect pet. You can view dogs or cats ready for adoption HERE or, if you like pit bulls or other bully breeds, click HERE.
If you can’t make the commitment to adopt, maybe think about fostering. Long Way Home gives you EVERYTHING you need for this. They provide the food, crate, bedding, blankets, toys. All you have to do is offer up your home. They can only save as many animals as they have room for, so not only does fostering give you the opportunity to save one dog or cat – it also frees up space for another.
Or if you’d simply like to make a donation, visit their website.
They also feature many fundraisers for different animals on their facebook pages.
Won’t you be a forever home to an abused animal?
BONUS: Here are pics of my LWH adopted love, Maia. A lot of the dogs featured by Long Way Home are just older dogs. Maia is six, and she was the perfect match for my other rattie Rocky, who is 7. I’ve never had a puppy before, so I jumped at the chance to be her forever home. She’s one of the calendar girls for December 2015.
