– Our Story –
Joe and I met in 2009 through mutual friends. He was attending A&M and I was a local making friends. We became great friends and would hang out everyday. As the story goes, friendship turned into like, and like turned into love. Everything took off at the speed of light. We were very “untraditional” as I like to say, and we did everything completely backwards and broke every rule. We got engaged, had a beautiful baby, and bought a house all in the same year. Once our lives slowed down, we finally decided to seal it with a kiss. November 22, 2014 was the date we settled on.
Because Joe and I were very “untraditional”, I wanted our wedding to be very traditional. We both come from big Catholic, Hispanic families, so we knew we wanted The Brazos Center – we knew it would definitely hold all of us. With our wedding coordinator, Brandy, we took off with the wedding plans. Our reception started with dinner, our guest got to taste wonderful sirloin strips and/or grilled chicken smothered in a honey mustered glaze with veggies and twice baked mashed potatoes. Let me tell you I love food, and I was so ready for this dinner. It was tasty and looked gorgeous on the plate.
For our center pieces, I knew I wanted simple, but elegant. So we decided on tall cylinder vases with purple blossoms submerged in water with candles. I absolutely love candle light on top of white linens. The purple up-lighting tied everything together. It was the perfect shade of purple and it was exactly how I imagined it. From the delicious 4-tier white, butter cream cake, awesome variety of music from all decades and genres, my ivory princess dress, to becoming Husband and Wife; It was the best day of our lives.
