Mitch and I met in 2008 when I started working for him at Truman Chocolates. I was only a junior in high school, but we instantly became good friends. Family and friends would hint to me that he liked me, but I never believed them. It wasn’t until after I graduated that I realized they were right and that I actually liked him too. We started dating shortly after that, and two and a half years later he planned a surprise trip to New York City and proposed in Times Square on New Year’s Eve. It was truly the most magical moment of my life. I was still in college when he proposed and I knew I wanted to graduate before we got married, so we decided to have an 18 month engagement to give us time to plan. My Italian roots and his friendly personality undoubtedly called for a huge wedding. The rehearsal dinner was held at Christopher’s World Grille with a Tiffany & Co. in New York City theme. All of my bridesmaids stayed the night with me at the Clary House the night before the wedding, with a brunch held the next morning. We all got ready together with hair and makeup on site. Mitch and I decided to do the first look before the wedding to have a little bit of the day to ourselves before everything got too hectic. It really was a special moment. We had a full Catholic Mass at St. Joseph Church before heading to the Brazos County Expo Center for the reception. We had a formal reception, with a “vintage glam” feel. The decor was absolutely stunning and everything I had envisioned, with chandeliers and romantic lighting. Shannon’s Catering provided our delicious dinner with that homemade “soul food” touch. Family members baked homemade goodies and treats, and of course we had chocolates provided by Truman Chocolates as favors. Everything was perfect and we are so grateful for our wonderful friends and family who helped make it perfect! We are truly ecstatic to see what forever has in store for us.
