Our love story began in the same fashion that most do. A night out with the girls, dinner and drinks at Republic, and in walks a friend with a tall, dark, and handsome man. This handsome man works up the nerve to buy me and the girls a drink, after a brief introduction from the mutual friend. We laugh and giggle, in true girly form, and the next think you know………
At some point later, our mutual friend asks me to come to a “singles night” dinner that he had been trying to convince me to attend for a while. After seriously debating whether attending a “singles night” dinner would be something of interest, I decided to give it a whirl. And good thing I did. The dinner happened to be at gentleman’s home named Mike Bellows. And I happened to recognize the guy…. From the infamous girls’ night, where some tall, dark, and handsome man so generously treated me and my girls to a round of cocktails. After this first “Singles Night” dinner, I was invited back a couple more times after being asked to be Mike’s friend on Facebook. That lead to more conversations between us two, and eventually, I was asked by Mike to dinner at his home once again, but this time, things would be a bit different. I arrived at Mike’s house for, what I thought, would be another “Singles Night” Dinner. When I walked into his home that night, I took a look around and noticed that in fact I was literally, the SINGLE person at the party. He came up to me and told me that this time around he had not invited anyone else to the dinner, but me. He asked me if I was ok with that, I said yes, and we ended up sitting by the fireplace all night and talking about life….. and the rest is history.
We took a trip to St. Thomas with two of our close friends, Carrie and Jeremy. They knew that this was the trip Mike was going to propose… and some of my close family members back home were also aware. We had a couple’s dinner planned for one night of the trip, at a restaurant overlooking the Caribbean. As the sun was setting, in the blink of an eye, Mike was down on one knee proposing. I was so taken back and in shock, I had no idea what was happening, it all happened so fast. One minute I was looking out into the sunset, and the next thing I knew, those enjoying a quaint dinner at the restaurant were applauding and I was in total shock & full of pure happiness!
The wedding was a dream. Because of the team that I had chosen for all of my wedding details, I knew that everything would work out just perfectly. And it did. I had so much fun with all of my vendors, and the entire wedding party. It truly was a celebration, and I will never forget that day for as long as I live.
