Jennifer Maddox honestly can’t remember meeting Justin Kling because they’ve known each other their whole lives. They grew up in College Station going to the same church and the same schools. But she is two years older than Justin – a huge difference in high school – so they never dated. It wasn’t until he was working on a television show in Dallas, which is where she lives now, that they reconnected and fell in love.
After their official first date in February 2011, they had no doubt they were going to get married. But after multiple setbacks, Justin was finally able to lure her out onto a remote beach in Galveston on his birthday, April 26, 2013, where he proposed and she enthusiastically said yes.
Although they both live in Dallas, they knew that getting married in College Station was the only thing that made sense. They had to get married in the church where they met: First Baptist Church College Station. Also, because both families once owned cotton gins, they decided to go with a loose cotton theme. Therefore, the Brazos Cotton Exchange was the ideal location for the reception. Rachael with Ashley & Company, helped incorporate some great details to pull the look together and allowed Jennifer to keep her sanity so that she was actually able to enjoy the day. Thanks to a lot of help from a lot of great vendors, the day was even better than Justin and Jennifer envisioned.
