Fries Financial Services to Match Funds Raised by United Way’s Youth Leadership Cabinet Dollar for Dollar
BRYAN, TX (Mar. 25) – The Youth Leadership Cabinet received a huge surprise at their weekly meeting on Monday. Denise Fries and Fries Financial Services announced that this year they will be matching dollar for dollar the funds raised by the Youth Leadership Cabinet. Throughout the year, the Youth Leadership Cabinet raises money to provide grants to Brazos Valley nonprofit agencies whose programs align with United Way of the Brazos Valley’s goals in Health, Education and Financial Stability. In addition, Fries is offering a $1,000 scholarship to one Youth Leadership Cabinet member called the Fries Financial Services Live United Scholarship.
“Whenever I see an organization that has young people that are doing things for other people, I always try to get involved,” said Fries. “I absolutely don’t ever want it to be where somebody tells you ‘you’re too young or too inexperienced or too something’ to make a difference in the world. I’m behind you one hundred percent, so I’m matching your donations one hundred percent.”
The Youth Leadership Cabinet’s fundraising goal this year was $12,000 and they beat that goal by raising $16,000. With this generous donation from Fries Financial Services, the Cabinet will double that amount, making 2019 the biggest Youth Leadership Cabinet grant season ever! Because of Fries Financial Services, the United Way Youth Leadership Cabinet will be able to grant a record breaking $32,000 to nonprofit organizations serving the Brazos Valley. This donation will also take Fries past the $750,000 mark for donations she has matched for Bryan College Station charities.
Because of this generous increase of funds, United Way Youth Leadership Cabinet will reopen the Community Builder Grant application for an additional week. Brazos Valley nonprofits have until Friday, Mar. 29 to apply. These grants are awarded up to $1,000 each. Eligible agencies must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization providing a direct impact in the areas of Health, Education and/or Financial Stability in the Brazos Valley.
