The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History proudly announces the opening of its exciting new in-house created exhibit, FIRE & EARTH: The Story of Ceramics, on display from January 29—May 28, 2022.
From teacups to toilets, and spark plugs to Space Shuttle tiles, ceramics play an essential role in the world.
Beautiful traditional clay-based ceramics, industrial favorites, and advanced ceramic materials will be on display.
Exhibit highlights include the ancient origins of ceramics, current uses, and the cutting-edge future of this remarkable material.
Displays feature traditional, clay-based ceramics dating back hundreds of years alongside the unique work of Texas ceramic artists and familiar industrial favorites.
In addition, visitors will have a rare opportunity to explore advanced ceramic materials developed by Texas A&M researchers that will shape the world of tomorrow.
This fascinating exhibit showcases items from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University, NASA’s Johnson Space Center, Joy Pottery, and other local collections.
