Destination Bryan Announces Selection Of Local Creative Firm
For Development Of New Tourism Brand
Residents are encouraged to participate in the research phase of the project
Destination Bryan today announced the selection of award-winning, College Station based creative agency Drift to develop a comprehensive destination brand platform. Research is already underway to create a unified brand for communicating vacation experiences in Bryan to potential visitors. Residents are encouraged to be a part of this process and take a brief, anonymous survey via the web or a mobile device.
“The Destination Bryan brand is something the residents of our community live and breathe every day,” said John Friebele, Destination Bryan executive director. “The research phase of the branding process is important. Understanding perceptions of our residents plus those of potential visitors will give life to our city’s most important stories.”
The resident survey is quick and easy, but it is only one phase of the overall brand research process. Additional insights will be extracted from one-on-one interviews, a tourism industry stakeholder forum, a destination immersion experience, visitor surveys, and more. From the data collected, positive and negative perceptions of Bryan will be identified. Utilizing this knowledge, a brand will be developed aimed at attracting visitors.
“Bandwagon’s experience in the research process will uncover the basis for which the brand will be built and Drift will deliver on this foundation with their proven design abilities. I firmly believe once this process has concluded, Bryan, Texas will have a destination brand promise that tells the story of where we’ve been, who we are, and where we’re going as a community that will entice visitors to choose Bryan as somewhere to explore, stay, shop, dine, and experience all the places that make it unique,” said Friebele.
Through a competitive bid process, Destination Bryan received nine proposals from interested firms based in six states. After a thorough review and interview process, Drift, a local creative firm was selected. Drift has a long history for branding tourism and hospitality businesses, especially in Downtown Bryan. For the research portion of the project, Drift is working with Bandwagon, a full-service destination research and marketing firm. Two members of Bandwagon’s leadership team are former residents of Bryan.
“Destination Bryan is thrilled to have selected Bandwagon and Drift to begin developing a destination brand strategy for the new organization. Having received several strongly considered proposals through the RFP process, the review committee ultimately knew the Bandwagon and Drift collaborative proposal was ideal for delivering a strategically driven destination brand that will resonate with both local stakeholders and visitors to our community,” said Friebele.
“We are honored to be given the opportunity by Destination Bryan to showcase the community’s strongest assets, culture, and vibrancy,” said Martin Hooper, Drift co-founder and creative director.
Destination Bryan is tasked with promoting the community’s attractions like Historic Downtown Bryan, Lake Walk Town Center, Aggieland Safari, and Messina Hof Winery & Resort, among many others.
The organization will also promote various festivals and large-scale events in the community. Destination Bryan’s goal is to stimulate economic impact throughout Bryan by promoting tourism to the city.
