Call for ‘Lights Out’ Helps Migratory Birds

Did you know that Texas is globally important for migratory birds, with millions traveling through the Texas night sky each spring and fall?
Artificial night-time lights distract and disorient migrating birds, resulting in building collisions. As many as one billion birds die from flying into buildings in the US every year.
You can help grant our avian friends safe passage by turning off all essential lights between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night through June 15.
