Derek and I met all by chance the very night he moved to Bryan-College Station in January 2011 for a job. It wasn’t until March when Derek reached out to me. We became instant friends, but we knew deep down inside that we were meant for one another. Derek was planning to propose to me on our family trip in June to Disney World, but that ring was burning a hole in his pocket and he just couldn’t wait. Valentine’s Day was approaching and we went out the night before to celebrate. We enjoyed our meal and at the end of the meal a special dessert was brought out with a beautiful ring on it. Derek then asked me to marry him.
We knew we didn’t want a long engagement so we set the date for March 29, 2014. I looked at all the venues in Bryan-College Station, but I had this certain feeling about Royalty Pecan Farm. We made our appointment to look at the venue. Once I arrived I knew this is the place I wanted to get married and hold my reception. We both knew we wanted to be somewhere out in the country and the scenario at Royalty Pecan provided that and more! We made sure to include special things in our wedding. Derek’s father officiated our ceremony and we had to include my favorite sweets. Our wedding was everything we wanted with so many memories to cherish.
