The City of Brenham Development Services Team and Kendig Keast Collaborative (KKC) invite residents to a Town Hall to discuss the Brenham Family Park Small Area Plan on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM at the Barnhill Center Ballroom.
The public is encouraged to attend this come-and-go event featuring a short presentation at 6:00 PM and visual boards to evaluate options that have been drafted for the 600+ acres of mostly vacant land that is adjacent to and surrounds the new Brenham Family Park. In addition, we thank the public for the nearly 300 responses to the recent online survey and will have the results on display at the Town Hall.
While the Brenham Family Park encompasses approximately 110 acres of the site, the Small Area Plan does not include any potential commercial or residential development within the park, as it will be a passive family park. The study area is generally bounded by the Brenham Business Center to the east, US Highway 290 to the north, the State Supported Living Center to the South, and State Highway 36 to the west. When the Small Area Plan is complete, our hope is that it provides property owners, city staff, Commissioners, and Councilmembers a consensus as to how the remaining non-park acreage could develop when prospective developers inquire about land within the plan area.
