Brenham Animal Services Joins NBC Universal
National CLEAR THE SHELTERS™ Month – August 2023

Brenham Animal Services (BAS) has joined NBCUniversal Local’s Clear the Shelters™ 2023 pet adoption campaign. This is the seventh consecutive year that NBC and Telemundo-owned stations present their popular pet adoption campaign to communities nationwide in partnership with affiliate stations and shelters/rescues. Since 2015, NBCUniversal Local’s Clear The Shelters campaign has helped more than half a million pets find new homes.
Come celebrate at BAS on Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 12 pm – 4 pm. BAS will be offering free pet adoptions, free microchipping, Kona Ice snow cones, a bounce house by Lando’s Fun in the Sun Inflatables, and Touch-A-Truck with the City of Brenham Police and Fire Departments. Clear The Shelters™ / Desocupar Los Albergues® is an annual, nationwide pet adoption campaign that is spearheaded by NBCUniversal Local, a division of NBCUniversal. Every year, NBCUniversal Local’s NBC and Telemundo-owned stations, plus affiliated stations, partner with animal shelters and rescues in their communities to host Clear The Shelters events. NBCUniversal Local’s Clear The Shelters campaign was inspired by a 2014 North Texas pet adoption event hosted by NBC 5 / KXAS and Telemundo 39 / KXTX and dozens of area shelters that resulted in the most adopted pets in one day for North Texas. Since 2015, NBCUniversal Local’s Clear The Shelters pet adoption campaign has resulted in more than a half million pets finding new homes.
