As part of its mission, FASO supports the Brazos Valley Symphony by educating and inspiring all citizens of the Brazos Valley to appreciate fine music. The Youth Concerto Competition is just one way the organization seeks to fulfill this goal.
Coordinated by FASO volunteers, the competition encourages appreciation of symphonic music for the students involved, and the public also benefits by being able to attend this free event. Audience members can enjoy the opportunity to see young people perform pieces that they may not hear the symphony play and a reception will be held while the judges deliberate to choose the winner.
“We invite the public to join us as these students compete to become this year’s winner. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear some of the finest young musicians in the Brazos Valley,” said Competition Chair Penny Zent. “Plus, admission is free!”
