Free Concerts – Percussion Ensemble – POSTPONED
Information courtesy of | Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra
The Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra wants to inform you that, following a thoughtful discussion during our Executive Board meeting, we have decided to postpone the upcoming outdoor concert scheduled for this weekend, August 27th. Our primary concern is the well-being of both our dedicated musicians and cherished patrons, and given the current excessive heat, it is unwise to proceed as planned.
Our Free Family concerts are all about uniting our community to enjoy music in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, the intense heat would only make this event uncomfortable and unsafe. Just this past Sunday, a record was set for the highest temperature, and the upcoming weekend is projected to reach a scorching 107 degrees.
The safety and well-being of our community, as well as the enjoyment of our events, take precedence. The overwhelming heat diminishes the joy that these concerts aim to bring, and we want to ensure that our community has the opportunity to fully relish the experience.
Currently, we do not have a replacement date scheduled. However, we are still committed to proceeding with all further scheduled free concerts. The next one is planned for September 17th at 6 pm at The Front Porch at Century Square.
