BRAZOS VALLEY GIVES BEGINS EARLY GIVING
COMMUNITY FIRST…GIVING WHERE YOU LIVE!
KICKOFF for GIVING BEGINS OCTOBER 1st FOR BRAZOS VALLEY GIVES
Information provided by Brazos Valley Gives
The Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley is proud to announce Stylecraft as the presenting sponsor of Brazos Valley Gives.
This 2nd annual giving day rallies Brazos Valley residents to put “Community FIRST by giving where you live.”
Brazos Valley Gives will be held on Tuesday, October 27. Given the needs within the nonprofit community, early giving will begin on Thursday, October 1. This year, 136 nonprofits are participating in Brazos Valley Gives, including 56 new nonprofits. Participating organizations include nonprofits from Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Madison, Robertson and Washington Counties. [list of 136 participating nonprofits is provided below].
To make a gift to a participating nonprofit, donors simply log on to brazosvalleygives.org. Early giving concludes on October 23, and Brazos Valley Gives Day is Tuesday, October 27.
Bryan Broadcasting, Insite, KBTX, The Eagle, Brenham Banner Press, Lamar Advertising, KTEX, KWHI, David Gardner’s Jewelers along with the Bryan/College Station and Washington County Chambers of Commerce are partnering with Brazos Valley Gives to ensure the community is aware and ready for the big day, which supports nonprofits throughout the 7-county region.
Last year, in the inaugural year of Brazos Valley Gives, more than 100 nonprofits participated with 100% of nonprofits receiving a financial benefit from the $363,686 that was raised. Each participating nonprofit was also eligible for $25,250 in prizes that were awarded during a post-celebration event. Over 1,100 individuals gave, and 879 donations were first-time donors to support a local nonprofit they had not supported before!
“Early giving makes it easy for the donor to give at their convenience. Those gifts are just the spark that the nonprofit needs to build their momentum leading up to Brazos Valley Gives,” stated Molly Watson, Co-Chair.
Brazos Valley Gives is 18 hours of online giving that brings the region together on one day and as one community to raise critical funding and awareness for nonprofit organizations throughout the Brazos Valley. Powered by the Community Foundation, Brazos Valley Gives provides citizens and businesses an easy platform to support the mission and “good works” of local nonprofit organizations that serve the Brazos Valley.
This second annual event has expanded to include nonprofits from throughout the 7-county Brazos Valley region. Brazos Valley Gives empowers individual donors and business leaders to come together to support causes close to their hearts—and, on this day, everyone can be a philanthropist. With so many nonprofits forced to cancel their events and fundraisers over the past six months, Brazos Valley Gives is serving as a critical fundraiser for many of our local nonprofits. “The needs are great this year, and our nonprofit community needs our support now more than ever,” stated Patricia Gerling, President/CEO of the Community Foundation.
This day of Community FIRST … giving where you live is being powered by the Community Foundation, and all donations benefit the donor’s charity(ies) of choice. The goal for Brazos Valley Gives is $375,000. Though the Community Foundation powers Brazos Valley Gives, it is not a fundraiser for them as 100% of donations benefit participating nonprofits. Donors choose and give to the nonprofit of their choice.
Visit brazosvalleygives.org to see a list of the nonprofit participants, or for more information send an email to brazosvalleygives@gmail.com. If you are a local citizen or business interested in supporting this year’s community giving day by sponsoring an incentive prize or providing matching funds, please call Patricia Gerling at (979) 589-4305.
Let’s all join in as we strengthen nonprofits, empower donors and build community throughout our beloved Brazos Valley. Community First!
