One of the longest continuously serving youth organizations in the area is expanding! After months of work by volunteers, Caldwell ISD and BGCBV staff we are excited to announce the opening of a Caldwell Unit which will serve up to 50 Elementary and Intermediate CISD students in its inaugural season. The Open House will give families an opportunity to tour, interact with staff, and view some of the life enriching programs the Boys & Girls Club movement offers.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley, through their Bryan location, serves more than 1,500 Brazos Valley youth aged 6-18 annually. Their focus on Youth Development through 5 core program areas: Character & Leadership, Education & Career, Healthy & Life Skills, the Arts, Sports, Fitness & Recreation, and Specialized Initiatives has made a major impact on the lives of those who come through their doors.
The Caldwell Unit will feature a number of benefits to local families including transportation from school to the Club location, hot meals served daily, a robust summer program open from 8am-5pm, and planned expansion of services to additional grades & youth in the coming years. Doors open to Club members for weekday programs beginning Monday, January 13th 2020 at 3pm.
Chief Executive Officer, Tiffany S. Parker, said “There was a need for our services in the Caldwell community, and our mission is to serve the kids who need us most. With the help of local volunteers, Superintendent Andrew Peters, CISD staff and administrators we were able to secure a location, funding to open our doors, and materials for our programs. We are so excited to welcome our Caldwell neighbors into the movement.”
