The Arts Council is excited to welcome our 2021 College Station Artist in Residence, Trevor Coopersmith. Trevor will spend the summer working on projects, adding to his portfolio, and preparing for a solo exhibit at the Arts & Visitor Center Gallery.
Trevor Coopersmith is an interdisciplinary artist from Carlsbad, CA. His recent work presents a series of concentric mushroom gills representing and translating a personal experience; 8 days and 115 miles by skateboard across central California to question methodologies of progress and Capitalism. Another series explores the relationship between memory and urban/ natural landscapes. These juxtapositions are in relation to Roman Mythology and the planets within our solar system; humanity and its connection/ alienation to the cosmos.
