COLLEGE STATION, March 13th, 2019 – Art After School, an after-school program for students ages 6-11, meet every Thursday beginning March 21 for nine weeks. Cost is only $125.00 and meets at the Arts Council’s new studios on Hwy 6 in College Station. Registration is open at acbv.org.
Students will get to experience working with pastels, acrylic paints, creating masks, and more during their classes in the Smits Emerging Artist Classroom. Taught by accomplished artists and teachers, this program helps children gain an art appreciation through skill-building arts and crafts.
The Arts Council’s Art After School program will be taught by Rebecca Dias, current Navasota Artist in Residence, who is working on her second children’s book project. Ms. Dias has a great 9-week semester planned that involves mixed-media arts and crafts, including drawing, painting, and air-dry clay, with activities inspired by famous artists such as Van Gogh and Henri Matisse.
