Christmas is quickly approaching; however, for many families across Brazos County, Christmas can be more of a hardship than a joyous time of year. The clients that come to The Salvation Army come because they find themselves trying to make ends meet; pay their bills, keep a roof over their heads, clothes on their backs, or food on the table. The necessary life items take priority and can leave little to nothing for gifts for their family during the Christmas season.
However, for 2,168 children comprised of 871 families on the Salvation Army Angel Tree Christmas Assistance Program, Christmas is coming just a little bit sooner. Thanks to the generosity of good-hearted and caring citizens and businesses, children in the program will receive the gift of joy and happiness along with gifts that have been donated to them on Christmas morning.
Captains Paul and Analese Ryerson are inviting members of the media, press, publication, and radio to attend the official Angel Tree Distribution Day on Thursday, December 19, 2019 beginning at 9 am. The location of distribution day is 511 W. Carson Street in Bryan, TX across from Travis Field/Brazos Valley Bombers baseball stadium in the old armory.
Captain Paul Ryerson will be available for interviews and photo opportunities the day of the event. Please contact us to make those arrangements or to ask any questions ahead of the event. We look forward to seeing you at the 2019 Salvation Army Angel Tree Distribution Day.

About The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in London in 1865, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination for more than 130 years in the United States. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through a broad array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. 82 cents of every dollar The Salvation Army spends is used to support those services in 5,000 communities nationwide.
