Destination Bryan along with presenting sponsor, Engel & Völkers and media sponsor, KRHD 25 News are delighted to announce $2,000 was raised during Bryan Restaurant Month for the Brazos Valley Food Bank. Today, the three organizations presented the donation to the Food Bank and were honored to be able to give back to the community in this way.
In addition to the donation to the Food Bank, Bryan Restaurant Month brought in an estimated $39,545 in economic impact to Bryan restaurants and raised awareness of new restaurants and old favorites. Three participants also won staycation packages to Bryan hotels and attractions.
“Destination Bryan is proud to be able to provide an impact back to our local community through Bryan Restaurant Month.” said John Frieble, Executive Director of Destination Bryan. “In addition to the impact that more than 1,000 participants were able to make on local restaurants, we are very appreciative of the donations from presenting sponsor Engel & Völkers and KRHD 25 News. Being able to promote Bryan as a destination by highlighting local flavors, while also partnering with these organizations to contribute to a local cause such as the Brazos Valley Food Bank, is extremely gratifying. After the last 12 months, we know that every opportunity to give back can count and we look forward to continuing to bring positive impacts to our community through future tourism efforts.”
“The Brazos Valley Food Bank is extremely grateful to Destination Bryan, the public who “checked in” during Bryan Restaurant Month, and of course Engel & Völkers that matched each check in with cash.” said Theresa Mangapora, Executive Director of the Brazos Valley Food Bank. “These efforts, along with a match from KRHD, means that 10,000 additional meals are available for our neighbors in need. 2020 was a difficult year for so many. And, quite frankly, 2021 hasn’t been easy so far either. Support like this helps the Brazos Valley Food Bank do what it does well – get food to people who need it, ongoingly, in disaster or just one time. Thank you for that!”
