10th Annual Downtown Bryan Street & Art Fair
More than 30 Texas artists and craftsmen will exhibit paintings, jewelry, sculptures and other handmade works at the Downtown Bryan Street and Art Fair on Saturday, April 13 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. The Art Fair is celebrating its 10th year in Downtown Bryan, and is also a featured event of the Texas A&M’s Family Weekend.
A highlight of the day will be a live demonstration of chalk mural art by renowned mural artist, Anat Ronen, from Houston, TX. Anat will be creating a chalk mural on Bryan Ave in front of The Frame Gallery. Steamroller Printmaking, sponsored by State Farm Agent Courtney Boring, is back again this year with more than 15 prints scheduled to be made. Steamroller Printmaking is an event in which teams of artists will create 4′ square prints in linoleum, with the design transferred to paper by driving the roller over the inked linoleum. Redtail Rental has donated the use of the roller for the fair in support of the arts in Downtown Bryan.
Downtown Bryan Acoustic Cafe, featuring Joey McGee, will provide entertainment for fair attendees throughout the day. Hands-on art activities for children will also be available throughout the day. Children will be able to make their own pieces of art to take home as a souvenir from the day. Other activities include henna tattoos, face painting and a giant paint-by-number canvas of the Queen Theatre. Attendees can also grab a bite to eat at one of the many Downtown Bryan restaurants or the participating food trucks that will be at the Art Fair.
As a recognized Texas Cultural District, Downtown Bryan actively fosters the arts and culture. This fair continues to build on that by inviting local and regional artists to support the vibrant and thriving atmosphere of Downtown Bryan.
