While College Station may not have a beach or fancy waterpark, we’re one of the best-kept secrets for sports tourism. Our location and premier facilities provide the perfect destination for tournament participants.
Our hospitality might have a little something to do with it, too!
Naturally, summertime is our busiest sports tourism season. The Parks & Recreation Department will host 12 sports events from May 29-Aug. 29, attracting an estimated 32,000 visitors to the area. The diverse array of events includes youth soccer, girls’ fast-pitch softball, 7-on-7 football, and senior softball.
College Station’s central location provides easy access for sports teams from Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Houston, and elsewhere to compete for state championships. That’s why we have four state championships on the schedule.
