Calling all fiber art enthusiasts! The Brazos Valley is thrilled to announce the inaugural Brazos Valley Fiber Festival, taking place on Friday, March 7th and Saturday, March 8th, 2025, at The Kimbell in Historic Downtown Bryan.
This exciting new event celebrates the vibrant community of fiber crafters in Bryan, College Station, and the surrounding area. Born from a desire to connect local yarn enthusiasts and address the lack of yarn shops within a 45-mile radius of Bryan-College Station (B/CS), the Brazos Valley Fiber Festival promises a bounty of inspiration and resources for fiber artists of all levels. This festival will be the first public event hosted inside The Kimbell in Downtown Bryan. The Kimbell is a century old feed store building that has been lovingly restored as a cultural event space for the Downtown Bryan community to enjoy.
The festival will feature a wide range of vendors from across the state offering a dazzling array of quality yarns, notions, fibers, and everything a fiber crafter could desire. Attendees can browse unique finds, meet talented artisans, and discover new techniques to fuel their creativity.
More Than Just Shopping:
Beyond the shopping experience, the Brazos Valley Fiber Festival promises to be a haven for community building. Attendees can expect:
- Engaging workshops and demonstrations from local teachers and guilds.
- Opportunities to connect with fellow fiber enthusiasts
- A chance to learn new skills and techniques
Learn something new:
Whether you are an experienced crafter or want to learn something new, we have classes for all skills and techniques. Our experienced teachers will be offering classes in crochet, knit, weaving, embroidery and more!
We are very excited to share that Lesley Anne Robinson, the amazing designer behind Knit Graffiti Designs will be joining us as our featured teacher.
A Texas based designer, Lesley has traveled all over the country teaching her unique classes and has worked with a wide variety of dyers and yarns in her designs. Lesley’s favorite thing to knit and teach is the technique of brioche – she loves to teach others how to knit those beautiful brioche stitches, and spends her days swatching out new brioche stitch patterns.
Participants can get more information as well as purchase class and vendor hall tickets at bvfiberfest.com or contact us at BVFiberFest@gmail.com.
This inaugural festival is made possible by grant funding from The City of Bryan.
Join us in celebrating the beautiful world of fiber arts!
