Austin and I moved into the same neighborhood when we were both 6 years old, but never met until our senior year in high school at Bible study. We both decided to attend Texas A&M and would occasionally see each other around campus, but never got to know each other until we had a class together junior year. He sat by me, we studied together for a test, and the rest fell into place.
Austin proposed about a year and a half later on my family’s ranch. We were there for weekly Sunday lunch and my family asked if I ever had shown Austin my “secret hideaway” that I had as a child. I said that I hadn’t. Austin asked me show him and because I had two tests the next day, I wanted to procrastinate studying in any way I could, so we went down to the hideaway. When we got near, roses led the path to what looked like an enchanted tea party tucked away in the woods.
The forecast predicted over 70% chance of rain every day leading up to our big day, including on our wedding day. When Sunday came, it was the most beautiful day and not a cloud in the sky. Our photographer’s actually called it the “Perfect Summer Wedding” and that is exactly what we thought too. The Moore Ranch was perfect for my vintage chic theme and our candy bar was fully stocked. From the moment I walked down the aisle to our first dance as husband and wife and our sparkler exit, it couldn’t have gone more smoothly!
