United Way of the Brazos Valley’s Youth Leadership Cabinet is hosting their annual profit share, United We Serve, on Thursday, Feb. 22. The Youth Leadership Cabinet is a group of local high school students who work to serve their community by volunteering and raising funds for Brazos Valley nonprofits. The Cabinet’s largest fundraiser of the year is an all-day profit share at all Double Dave’s Pizzaworks locations in the Bryan/College Station area.
“It’s for a good cause,” said Lana Hightower, A&M Consolidated High School student and Treasurer of the Youth Leadership Cabinet. “It makes a huge impact on the community.”
During every school year, the Youth Leadership Cabinet raises funds to give grants to local nonprofit organizations such as Family Promise of Bryan-College Station and the Texas Ramp Project. Last year, the Cabinet granted over $10,000 to 11 nonprofits serving the Brazos Valley through successful fundraisers like United We Serve.
All Bryan/College Station Double Dave’s Pizzaworks locations will donate a portion of their profits from every order on Feb. 22 to the Youth Leadership Cabinet, with a boosted 70% of the profits from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. going to the Cabinet. All money raised will be used in the Youth Leadership Cabinet’s Community Builders Grants for nonprofit services.
The Youth Leadership Cabinet strives to lead the way by making connections, serving the community, and developing future leaders in the Brazos Valley. The Youth Leadership Cabinet is made up of students from Bryan and College Station high schools.
