A setting sun doesn’t mean it’s too late to venture outdoors and enjoy nature.
Sure, daytime has advantages, such as seeing wildlife and plants. But the nighttime sky is like a giant puzzle with countless stars and dozens of constellations and planets.
At the Lick Creek Nature Center’s Star Party, you can experience all the winter sky has to offer while soaking in the remarkable away-from-it-all atmosphere of Lick Creek Park. The free, family-friendly event is Friday, Feb. 25, from 7-10 p.m. and features not only stargazing but space-themed crafts and activities.
You’ll learn about galaxies and constellations while exploring the night sky and crafting your way through space. We’ll also offer out-of-this-world snacks, hot chocolate, and a photo booth.
So, grab your telescope, friends, and family, and enjoy a memorable night of stargazing and good company.
Additional parking is available at the Lick Creek equestrian entrance off Rock Prairie Road. For more information, contact me at 979.764.6216 or parks@cstx.gov.
