Egg-Stravanganza Offers Safe Way To Celebrate Easter

At a traditional Easter egg hunt, you’ll find scores of ravenous kids lined up along a sprawling field littered with colorful packets filled with surprises. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to change how we do many things — and egg hunts are no exception.
Now for the good news.
While the Parks and Recreation Department can’t provide the sprawling field and social interaction this year, we can still offer eggs and fun with a free, drive-thru Easter Egg-stravaganza from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, at the Meyer Senior and Community Center. Enter the event from Colgate Drive and exit right onto Dartmouth Street.
From the comfort and safety of a vehicle, your youngsters can wave to the Easter Bunny and grab a free bag filled with eggs, allergy-free candy, and fun-filled activity sheets. Let the kids tear into the eggs right away or save them for an egg hunt at home. For that rare child unswayed by candy, the activities are a perfect distraction.
Children must be present to receive a bag, and supplies are limited.
