Creating Your Wedding Day Vibe

Set the Tone with a Great Morning!
Preparation Before Your Big Day
The more prepared you are for your wedding day, the more relaxed you will feel. Take the time beforehand to plan out your morning. Be sure your bridesmaids know who is getting their hair and makeup done and at what time. Assign certain tasks to your bridesmaids such as picking up coffee and/or breakfast for everyone, determining who will bring lunch, etc.
Sleep the Night Before
All of our “Let’s go to Northgate!” brides —this one is for you! Probably one of the most important things you can do before your wedding day—PRIORITIZE SLEEP. Naturally, the excitement of the night before your wedding will kick in and you will want to greet all of your incoming guests (or have some fun with a pre-wedding pre-game), but you should make sure to plan your rehearsal dinner end time to be sooner rather than later so that you can get a good night’s rest. Going to bed early will help alleviate your anxiety for the big day and it will help with your overall mood and energy. No one wants to look or feel tired on their wedding day – Do yourself a favor and sleep, sleep, sleep.
Have a Getting Ready Playlist
Music is good for the soul and can help you feel all of the wedding day vibes. Assign this task to one of your bridesmaids if you’d like. Encourage upbeat songs that will create a fun atmosphere for the morning. Pro Tip: Make sure you have a Bluetooth speaker packed for the wedding morning unless you know your venue has a sound system you can connect to!
Eat and Drink!
We cannot stress the importance of eating food and drinking plenty of water on your wedding day. Staying hydrated will not only help you maintain energy, but it will also help your skin look soft and supple throughout the day. Don’t want to feel bloated by eating? That’s okay…we get it! But don’t skip mealtimes altogether. Instead, opt for low carb, light bites like fruit, veggies, chicken salad, or better yet a super cute charcuterie for the bridal suite!
Give Your Phone Away
This will be a tough one, but we promise, if you do this your day will be so much more enjoyable. Assign a bridesmaid to keep your phone for the morning. Ask her to take pictures and videos behind the scenes or even hop on a TikTok trend. By giving your phone away, you’ll avoid people texting or calling you with questions that might cause anxiety and stress, but you will know there is a trusted person filtering those texts and calls should something major arise.
Have a Details Box Ready
This goes along with being prepared for the day and your photographer will love you for this! Have a “details box” ready to go with all of the important things you want photographed—your rings, vow books, invitation suite, perfume bottle, cuff links…anything that is important to you.
Share The Timeline With Your Bridal Party
Most often the bridal party doesn’t have a clue what is going on and what is next on the agenda. If you have a wedding planner or coordinator, ask her to make a condensed timeline version that can be provided to your bridal party. That way everyone is in the know. It helps them connect with the day as well and communicate with their friends or family who might be attending the wedding as well.
Savor the Moments
When wedding morning comes, there is no going back, no more planning to be done, and nothing you need to worry about other than marrying the person you love! Be present with whoever is with you, notice the small things, and focus on what is happening in the moment you’re in! Be mindful as you watch your flower girl admiring your dress or hear laughs from your bridal party. Moments like these will forever hold a special place in your mind, so make them joyful!
